SaluteMyJob, as one of the founders of SVETS, is hosting a working seminar to consider the formation of a 'Scottish Enterprise Approach to Transition' - or some form of employer-led skills partnership.
Around 3,500 employers have now pledged their support to the Armed Forces by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. Do you want to find out more about what other employers are doing to deliver their pledges? Or is your company considering signing the Covenant and want to understand the benefits and how other companies promote themselves as ‘Armed Forces friendly’ organisations, implement their programmes and measure success?
If so, SMJ Consulting Services is hosting a special event for employers ahead of this year’s British Ex-Forces in Business awards on 8th May. You are invited to attend this event, either to speak about your existing programme or listen to the good practice of others. Please indicate on the Eventbrite link, if you are willing to speak briefly (no more than 5 mins) on any of the following 3 subjects:
What is an Armed Forces friendly employer and what can it do?
What does a successful Armed Forces programme look like and how do you measure it?
What lessons have you learned from other employer-led, collaborative projects?
This is a fantastic chance to hear about the good practice of other employers and discuss how we can collaborate to maximise the benefits to employers, veterans and reservists alike.
Thanks to the generosity of the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards and Hilton Hotels, the cost to attend is only £100 per person. Space is limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. So book now to join other employers in a stimulating discussion in the comfort of one of London’s landmark hotels.
If you would like to find out more about the event, please contact Andrew Jackson - email@example.com
WHEN: 8 MAY 2019
WHAT TIME: 10.30am - 3.30pm (lunch and refreshments included)
WHERE: 22 Park Lane, Mayfair, London W1K 1BE - nearest tube Hyde Park Corner
The fee for the day will cover food & beverages for the day and function facilities provided by Hilton Hotels or their contractors. Any surplus will be put towards the specialist employment support services SMJ provides to ex-military jobseekers, which are in high demand. These services are funded in part by grants from the Service benevolent funds and the Scottish Veterans' Fund.
SMJ Consulting Services is delighted to be partnering with the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards, the largest gathering and celebration of military veterans in business.
His Royal Highness, Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex presented SaluteMyJob with the MOD’s highest badge of honour in recognition of their commitment to the Armed Forces community during a glittering awards ceremony in London on Monday night. (November 12)
SaluteMyJob and J1 Consulting have announced their merger today, 1 October 2018, joining forces to provide a more comprehensive set of integrated veterans focused advisory, recruitment and training services that will better serve employers and ex-military jobseekers alike.
In our September newsletter we look at the onboarding process and how you as an employer can make an ex-military employee's first 100 days a success. We also ask the question: are businesses missing a trick by not running a veterans’ training programme alongside their graduate or apprenticeship programmes and thereby helping bridge the gap between military life and the civilian workplace?
We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the gold standard for our support of the Armed Forces community. The Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award is the highest award for organisations which have signed the Armed Forces Covenant and demonstrated outstanding support for those who serve and have served.
SALUTEMYJOB is delighted to announce that we have been named as one of three finalists in the Heropreneurs Awards small business employer of the year category.
