Who are SMJ Consulting Services ltd?

We are experts in helping you capitalise on ex-military and reservist talent through the implementation of structured, sustainable and measurable Armed Forces or ‘veterans’ programmes.

Our role is to help ‘join the dots’ between employer demand and the supply of talented former Service men and women. We do this by:

  • Building strong and close working relationships with employers, so we understand your needs and future plans;

  • Help you build a pipeline of ex-military talent. Unlike an agency, we work with you, and ex-military job seekers, to align your needs with the expectations and timelines of transitioning and former Service men and women;

  • Matching the transferable skills and culture fit of ex-military people to the needs and values of your business;

  • Focusing on meeting the critical needs of employers, for example in cyber security, operations management, engineering and business assurance

SMJ Consulting Services Management Team

Andrew Jackson and Nick Everard have both seen at first hand the mismatch between strong demand for ex-military talent and the received view of most Service leavers that there were no jobs for them in civvy street.

Nick, a former Lieutenant Colonel, began by focusing on helping officers wanting to get into the financial services industry, then set up J1 Consulting, an award winning executive search agency.

Andrew, a former Brigadier, in the meantime, created SaluteMyJob, which focused on working with employers to develop veteran recruitment programmes and thereby hire suitably qualified talent.

Believing that together they can provide a more comprehensive set of veteran focused advisory, recruitment and training services, better serving employers and military talent alike, they have now jointly launched SMJ Consulting Services.

Together we can help you capitalise on ex-military and reservist talent.
